VARSITY CHAMPIONSHIPS
HALF MOON BAY (OCEAN COURSE)
2 Miramontes Point Rd, Half Moon Bay, CA 94019
This is the moment we have been waiting for all season. Who will come out as this season's champion? Congratulations if you have made it this far and are competing for the event that matters the most. I am excited to see who wins the green jacket. Will there ever be a black jacket earned (champion who won more than once)?
Drama aside, this is going to be a fun event! Give yourself time to commute to Half Moon Bay. Please go over all the details in this email.
Feel free to reach out to me via phone if you have further questions.

Playing format
Division 4 = Net Scoring
I will be there at 8:30am setting up. No need to check in at the pro-shop. I will have a booth on the grass handling registration. I suggest showing up anytime before 11am.
We will be doing a group photo at 11:20am. It is not mandatory to be in it, but it would be great if you do show up!
There will be a trophy ceremony held after everyone is finished. The location will be at the outside patio near the restaurant, near the first tee box of the Old Course. Look for the Fairway Fox canopy.
Please give your scorecards to me (Brandon Fox).
Look good play good. We have photographers and videographers. If anyone wants to be thematic, I'll be wearing green and cream.
It is a standard stroke play, individual scores. We have 4 divisions which will group everyone with similar skill level.
Division 4 (16+ handicap) will is scored as a net champion. The way this works: you take your score of what you shot for the round, and subtract your handicap to get your net score.
Rules:
-
You must have an official GHIN in order to calculate your net score.
-
25 strokes is the max given
Rules
-
Standard USGA ruling (Click Here)
-
Pace of play - If the marshal needs to force a group to skip a hole in order to catch up, then everyone in that group will receive a double-bogey for the skipped hole. Please be proactive about your pace and get into ready-golf when needed.
-
OB (out of bounds) - You may use the alternate 2-stroke penalty which allows you to drop 2 club-lengths onto the fairway.
-
If there aren't white stakes present, then it may be considered a hazard. Standard hazard rules apply - (1) If it isn't playable then take the drop with +1 stroke penalty (2) If you can play from the hazard then you may hit in that spot with no penalty strokes.
-
Max Score - Just for pace of play sake, a Max Score can be opted for by a player in order to skip to next hole. Max Scores (Par 3 = 7, Par 4 = 9, Par 5 = 10).
-
What happens if I'm late to my tee time? Hopefully this doesn't apply to anyone. If you are late, contact me or your cartner: we need to see if someone in your group can drive back to pick you up. For every hole you missed, you will receive the max score (double par).
-
Tree roots - We will allow the Local Rule. If your ball is on a tree root, you may drop it one club length into a safer lie. We don't want clubs being damaged or injuries happening from hitting into a root.
Score Keeping
-

-
